DATAGROUP acquires employees and customer relations of Vega Deutschland GmbH by way of an asset deal

DATAGROUP AG (WKN A0JC8S) has acquired employees and customer relations of software and consulting company Vega Deutschland by way of an asset deal. Business activities will be continued within the new company, DATAGROUP Vega GmbH, a fully owned company of DATAGROUP AG. Thanks to the acquisition, DATAGROUP gains important experts in topics which are in high demand. Furthermore, an attractive customer base offers excellent growth opportunities for the entire company. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Vega Deutschland is a software and consulting company based in Cologne. The IT service company previously belonged to technology group Finmeccanica, one of the leading European providers in aerospace, defence and security. Services range from IT consulting and the integration of complex IT platforms to individual software development. Vega Deutschland had some 120 employees in the past year.

We consistently continue our growth strategy towards high-quality IT services. We want to keep and further expand Vega’s existing relationships as we have done very successfully in earlier acquisitions’. Since its IPO, DATAGROUP has acquired 16 companies and successfully integrated them into the group.

There is very little overlap in Vega’s customer base to the existing customer relations of DATAGROUP. Vega has long-standing relationships to industrial companies and public institutions, particularly in the financial sector. As such, Vega optimally supplements DATAGROUP’s existing customer base. Its integration into DATAGROUP results in significant growth potential in the solutions and consulting business unit as well as additional sales opportunities through cross-selling.

The acquisition strengthens DATAGROUP’s profile as a one-stop shop. ‘In addition to fail-proof IT operations, our customers also expect us to provide individual solutions for the further development of their IT’, explains DATAGROUP COO Dirk Peters. ‘With the acquisition of software and consulting companies – most recently high-end mobility specialist Excelsis – we specifically strengthened our business in this direction in the past. Thanks to the specialists of our new subsidiary, Vega, we can cater to the needs of our clients from a single source to an even higher degree.’
