Despite stable business development and above-average growth in passenger numbers, cost pressure has also risen steadily at Stuttgart Airport in recent years. One keyword that therefore came up more and more often was e-procurement.
The switch from conventional to electronic processes has a lasting positive impact on the value chain in the areas of procurement, materials management and logistics. The responsible persons agreed on this. As a partner for electronic procurement, Flughafen Stuttgart GmbH selected DATAGROUP, the IT service provider for medium-sized companies and operator of the platform.
With its platform, DATAGROUP electronically maps the business relationships between Stuttgart Airport and the suppliers. The customer is thus not subject to any restrictions and can continue and supplement his existing relationships without any problems. The web server makes the complete ordering functionality available to users in a personalized manner when they dial in via the Internet. All documents generated in the system, such as orders, invoices, order confirmations, etc., are automatically transferred to the connected ERP systems of the customers and the MMS of the suppliers.

Stuttgart Airport is the largest airport in Baden-Württemberg. Its main purpose is to transport passengers, but it also handles cargo. Since 2014, it has borne the name “Manfred Rommel Airport”. This is in recognition of the work of Manfred Rommel (*1928 – † 2013), who was Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Lord Mayor of Stuttgart for many years.
